Biography

Carolyn Cheng is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Royal LePage. Serving Canadians since 1913, Royal LePage is the country’s largest national real estate company, with a network of over 18,000 real estate professionals in over 600 locations. The company also operates its own charity, the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, dedicated to supporting women’s and children’s shelters and educational programs aimed at ending domestic violence. Royal LePage is a Bridgemarq Real Estate Services Inc. company, a TSX-listed corporation trading under the symbol TSX:BRE.

As the COO, Carolyn is charged with the ongoing development of the company’s value proposition to attract and retain brokerages, teams and agents in the industry’s ever-changing landscape. As a passionate and trusted business leader, she takes on complex problems, identifying solutions and driving the implementation effort to achieve results. She has spearheaded core business strategy, channel growth, new business line development, technology and services adoption strategies as well as process and organizational optimization. Specifically, she oversees the company’s pilot programs, its lead generation strategy and programs, the consumer portal, the company’s end-to-end integrated and automated brokerage operations and marketing solutions, recruiting and retention services, training and customer care.

Recognized for her strategic input, she has been asked to sit on various Advisory Councils including those for Google, Inside Real Estate and Local Logic and she participates in the Canadian Real Estate Association’s (CREA’s) AGM for franchisors. She has also been recognized on Swanepoel’s Power 200 the last two years.

Prior to joining Royal LePage, Carolyn worked for its parent company, formerly known as Brascan Business Services, as the Director, Business Development and at Deloitte Consulting as a Senior Consultant in Strategy and Business Operations. Carolyn has a Master’s of Science in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science as well as a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University.

Outside of the industry, Carolyn is an award-winning abstract aerial photographer. She has shown her work in Canadian galleries, been published in National Geographic’s Photo of the Week series as well as the International Landscape Photographer of the Year’s Top 101 Book.
